Accident Wars

Andrew is a Bsc Physics dropout and works as a radio jockey in a coastal city in India. He always gossips about any social issue or a celebrity to get trended in social media. He has a girlfriend named Diya, a popular singer. Unknown to each other both of them are in love and are looking forward to proposing.

One day he sees in the news in which it is said that a ship got stuck in between a canal due to strong winds and cannot turn on either side. He ignores the news and continues to chat with Diya on his mobile. When he was about to propose to Diya in the chat, he sees another issue in the news channel which is two trains are traveling on a track facing each other due to the wrong shift of the track. The trains will collide with each other if both never stop at the right time.

Andrew starts gossiping about this on the radio. Because a ship is stuck in a canal and on the contrary two trains are facing each other. The social media users start spreading like there is something mysterious co-incidence is happening.

After some time, the news channels say that a traffic signal got glitched in a big one-way road and only the green light keeps working. Vehicles keep moving on that road faster and there are no accidents at the junctions yet but the vulnerability is more. No traffic cops are there and if someone is appointed, it'll take more time for them to reach there. Now social media users almost confirm that some mystery is positive.

But Andrew feels guilt that, if anything devastatingly happens, there will emerge a false pseudo-belief that some alien is manifesting this or god wants to destroy the world and that he shouldn't have related the ship and train emergency. Because he's a pure atheist.

Now the only emergency left over is in aviation. This time it never comes in any news channels. A friend of Andrew named Majel, who works in ATC, calls him and says that an aircraft's engine (out of 2) got switched off and the flight is about to make an emergency landing. Andrew asks whether the passengers and cabin crews know this and Majel says that they are not aware yet. Andrew asks him to request the pilots not to reveal this to them and let them have a happy and peaceful journey no matter if the end is positive or negative. Majel does as Andrew said and the pilots accept that.

Andrew reveals this on the radio and requests the social media users not to spread any false beliefs. He gets humiliated by some internet users for talking about something old-fashioned. He then says on the radio "Attention to all those driving in the one-way road where the signal is not working. Please stop wherever you are until a traffic cop arrives there. I'm saying this to avoid accidents at the junctions. There are already emergencies in marine, railway, and in aviation. We don't know how they're going to end. At least, we'll try to prevent road accidents. So I kindly request everyone to stop wherever you are.".

Some people stop their cars. Because of this, people who ignored Andrew's words hits and ram over the vehicles that were slowing down and stopping in front of them. Fortunately, there were only vehicle damages but not any injuries and deaths as the airbags saved every life.

Diya posts on social media, "Had everyone stopped their cars the damages could have been avoided. Good time that the technology saved everyone. Technology is developed, but we are still barbarians.". After this, every social media user takes Andrew seriously.

On the other hand, Diya and Andrew want to propose to each other but couldn't able to due to this environment.

Flight Rescue:

The flight successfully lands at the airport. Once parked at the terminal by towing from the runway, the pilot announces from the cockpit to the passengers and ATC, "Mental silence is the best initiative for bringing chaos to silence. Dear passengers, we were actually making an emergency landing, which we didn't reveal to you all. Had we revealed, you would've all been in a panic. Also, we would have been subjected to a mental noise that you're all in panic and we wouldn't have been able to silently plan and work on the solution. We sincerely thank the radio jockey Andrew who suggested this idea.".

The successful landing of the flight and the pilot's words are revealed in the news channels.

Train Rescue:

Andrew makes a social post requesting attention from anyone on the two trains. Two passengers from the two trains respond. Andrew gives some instructions to both of them to save the passengers and drivers from the accident.

As instructed by Andrew, both of them (in their respective trains) open the compartment door and climb up on the train. Then they reach the engine in the front and ask the drivers to increase the speed to the max and take the drivers above the train. Now, they disconnect the engine from the first compartment. The passenger compartments slow down and stop and the engines collide with each other and blast without any persons inside. Thus the train emergency is resolved.

Ship Rescue:

After the train rescue, Andrew says on the radio that "It's all about physics. Most of the physical laws are not that difficult but the trick is to work for you and not against you. So the ship rescue also will be done using physics.". He then adds "Now the earth digging is going on at the bows of the ship and the tugboats are being used to pull the ship. But these will have only a minor impact. So the water power in the canal with the returning tides needs to be used to push the ship as the tugboats pull it. The combination of these two will do the trick.".

This gets communicated to the rescue team by the experts in the port and then the ship is turned towards the required direction and is rescued finally.

Thus all the emergencies are resolved. The flight and train passengers are safely evacuated. A couple of traffic constables controlled the traffic on the one-way road. The ship finally reached the harbor.

Public appreciation showers on Andrew for bringing chaos to an end. Diya and Andrew propose to each other and finally get married.
